Win One of Five Ostrich Feather Dusters

Monday, August 10th, 2015

If you want to keep your blinds looking clean and bright then you need the right tools for the job.

It has been proven that an ostrich feather duster is far superior to other (cheaper) types of duster.

Not only do they have magnetic properties, meaning they resist static electricity, the tiny barbules on the ostrich feathers act as fingers to collect dust, which makes them much more effective. Rather than pushing the dust away and flipping it into the air, an ostrich-down duster will attract dust and hold onto it until you shake it free to vacuum later.  The feathers can also be washed in warm soapy water, rinsed and air dried.

When used for domestic cleaning, an ostrich feather duster will last for years, which makes them exceptional value.

Ostrich-down dusters are perfect for cleaning all types of blinds, especially wooden ones, and due to their anti-static qualities, they work a treat on fancy light fittings and electronics too.

Sounds good?  Well luckily we have five superb ostrich feather dusters to give away.

Make decorating disasters a thing of the past with Design Space

Tuesday, July 14th, 2015

We’ve all been there. When the promising idea of a freshly updated interior looks nothing like the finished reality.  And by the time we realise, it’s usually way too late, leaving homeowners up and down the country stuck with disappointing décor and uninspired colour schemes. But not anymore…

Design Space

Design Space is a free online tool that can unleash the creativity of would-be interior designers, whilst taking the uncertainty out of what type of blinds would look best in a room’s new colour scheme.

Apollo Blinds is the first window blind retailer in the UK to provide a ‘try before you buy’ visualisation tool, that allows you to:

– decide which window blinds and colour combinations work before making a purchase

– view venetian blinds, roller blinds, vertical blinds and pleated blinds in a range of colours and patterns

– visualise within a choice of room settings – from kitchens and modern bathrooms to traditional dining

Mike Stephen from Apollo Blinds said:  “It’s often difficult choose from the huge selection of window dressings available, this leads to many people playing it safe. Design Space gives you an accurate representation of how your ideas will look in real life.

“People now have the freedom to experiment with colour and pattern like never before – and I’d urge people to go wild, perhaps try clashing colours or test out darker or bolder hues; they might just find the winning combination that they’d never have dreamed of using without Design Space.”

Design space kitchen

Design Space is as easy as 1, 2, 3, 4

1)   Pick a room to decorate. Users can choose from a range of roomscapes to best match their interior at home.  Settings include living rooms, dining rooms, offices, children’s rooms, kitchens and conservatories in a choice of classic, traditional, modern, country and vibrant styles.

2)   Select a fabulous Apollo Blinds product to visualise.

3)   Experiment. Play around with different colours and designs for the product.  Change the colour of walls and accessories and even compare blinds by hanging a different design at each window (as shown in the children’s room below).

Clever twit George has gone radio gaga

Friday, March 4th, 2011

George Stewart from Apollo Blinds Hamilton has taken his use of social media to a new level this week in order to get free publicity for his business.

He’s following in the footsteps of all the A-list celebs by announcing news on his Twitter and Facebook pages. And this week he revealed the new look for his showroom and van.

Apollo HamiltonGeorge has incorporated Facebook and Twitter logos on his shop signage and van livery as a way of promoting his presence on the social media sites.

But, not content with that, George has been using social media to strike up an online friendship with Clyde 1 DJ and Scottish Sun columnist Robin Galloway…..and George is now getting free mentions on the radio from his new newfound buddy.

Cheeky George knew Robin lived in Hamilton so asked him to be a fan of his Apollo Blinds Hamilton Facebook page and the banter has carried on from there with Robin reading some of the one-liner jokes that have become George’s trademark.

As a result, he has got mentions twice this week and knowing George he’s going to milk it for all its worth.

George we salute you and I’m sure you’ll be using this blog as more publicity for your business!

A dozen head are better than one

Friday, November 19th, 2010

A new supplier got more than they bargained for this week when Apollo Blinds turned up mob handed to inspect products that we are thinking about stocking early next year.

As well as hosting all the key decision makers from head office, a number of our franchise owners were invited to the supplier meeting to give their feedback on the products.

It sounds obvious but our franchise owners are the ones who sell the products so their attendance was vital to give valuable input in deciding if we were going to go ahead and carry these new products.

And, as we expected, the franchise teams that descended on Chester from all over the UK gave an expert appraisal of the products lines.

It was fascinating to watch them in action inspecting the products in fine detail and asking very searching questions. It made us realise just how much knowledge we have within Apollo Blinds and this is one key of the reasons why we stand alone in the marketplace.

Product development is just one of the areas where we continually consult our Apollo Blinds franchise owners as part of our commitment to being the best company we can be.

Join the Apollo revolution

Saturday, October 9th, 2010

It’s a lot easier to make a good living if you are selling the best products available. It also helps if you are representing one of the most high profile brands in its sector.

All of our Apollo Blinds franchise owners who attended the launch of our stunning collections know just what that means. They were the first people in the UK to see our stunning new Roller and Verticals collections and every last one of them loved them. We’re also basking in the glory of all the great comments from independent commentators who have described the collection as the most exciting, vibrant and contemporary they have ever seen.

In the week since the launch, sales have really taken off. And, as a result, we at Apollo Blinds are more optimistic about 2011 than most other businesses we know.

Which is why we have a very special Discovery Day lined up for 26th October because there’s never been a better time for people to join the Apollo network and sell the best blinds in the UK.

Find out more about our Discovery Day and then give our Recruitment Manager, Steve Ryan, a call on 07971 675647 to book your place.

And when you do, Steve will tell you about an incredible offer we have for anyone who can begin training prior to Christmas and be ready to start building their business from 1st January 2011.
