Vertical blinds are made by us here in Whetstone, using the Hunter Douglas AMO Amtrack Plus headrail system. This could well be the best track that you will find in Leicestershire, giving top quality at a sensible price. There are about 300 materials to compliment the track, including dim-outs and flame retardants, often a requirement in educational, health and office environments.

Our material range is one of the most comprehensive with vibrant colours, textures and patterns, not forgetting the ever popular “neutral” shades.

Venetian blinds are our next best seller after vertical blinds. We have an extensive range of top quality aluminium slatting and in our 25mm slat width range there are many bright colours, textured finishes, wood look-alikes, thermo-stop backed and metallics. As if that was not enough choice we also have ranges from sister companies.

Roller blinds continue to be in demand and with our range of plains, textured and patterned often provokes the comment “too much choice”. Scallops are popular on the bottom of roller blinds and again there is good choice coupled with dozens of braids to edge the scallop.

Wooden Venetian blinds. This is a rapidly growing market and Apollo Blinds in Whetstone have seen demand soar in the past year. The Apollo range includes a ready made blind that is professionally reduced in size for your window and two ranges of truly made-to-measure. The Apollo ranges are backed up by the Luxaflex range, featuring some very special woods. Decorative tapes instead of the ordinary ladderstrings are very popular.

Pleated blinds were previously used almost only in conservatories, but now, with different styles and materials, are being installed in bedrooms, living rooms, on kitchen doors, skylights….everywhere. The “perfect fit” system is very useful on doors and conservatory windows where shade is required but ventilation necessary at the same time. An “equal pleat” device can be added to ensure pleats are always equally spaced – defying gravity.

Roman blinds are another product showing sales growth around Leicestershire. The Apollo range is diverse and easy to view with the actual material samples in the pattern book, plus many illustrations and the showroom samples. The blinds are produced with a white or cream lining (blackout quality available) and come mounted on to an aluminium alloy headrail, complete with a simple to operate sidewinder system for operation – no locking-off or tying-off required.

Awnings and canopies. Although these are generally bought as sun protection, they are very useful if dining or relaxing outside when a shower passes over. The Caribbean range of patio awnings, made for Apollo franchisees, is probably the best system available in each of the model types. The extensive range of colours and stripes available for the covers, is from a high quality specially woven material, treated to the highest of specifications for durability. Electrically operated awnings are very popular, some even fitted with sun and wind sensors.

Conservatory blinds. Over the years we have installed every sort of blind in to conservatories but vertical blinds and pleated blinds remain the most popular in terms of functionality. Problems of protruding handles, gutter boxes and tilt-and-turn windows can be overcome by one product or another.
