Window Blinds to Match Tranquil Dawn

Wednesday, September 18th, 2019

The colour trend experts at Dulux have announced the colour of the year for 2020 as Tranquil Dawn. It’s a hazy, fresh sea green that signifies new beginnings for interior design, encourages human connection and is a nod to the new decade we’re about to enter.

The great news is that if you’re looking to for Tranquil Dawn home accessories or soft furnishings, Apollo Blinds has products across all of its window blinds ranges to match the Dulux Colour of the Year.

Our design director Matt Thomas says:

“Tranquil Dawn provides a fresh twist on the greys we’ve become accustomed to in interior design.  There are plenty of gorgeous patterned fabrics from our Roman Blind, Curtain and Cushion Collection to match Tranquil Dawn that can be coordinated throughout the room.

“Shutters also look amazing with this colour, especially as Apollo Blinds operates a colour match service that can perfectly match shutters to any shade. Alternatively, a crisp white, soft grey or natural timber would beautifully complement this colour on the walls.”

‘Get the Look with Apollo Blinds’

Pantone has unveiled two colours of the year for 2016. Rose Quartz and Serenity are shades that, according to Pantone, nurture our psychological well-being by appealing to our sense of balance and harmony.  The calming tranquil blue and warmer ‘persuasive’ pink represent an all-embracing approach to colour that is non gender specific and creates a feeling of ‘order and peace’.  The colour experts at made to measure blinds specialists Apollo Blinds have picked out the best blinds to apply this look.

“Serenity is an almost ethereal shade and its calming influence is said to create feelings of ’respite and relaxation even in turbulent times’. Whether utilised in a coastal scheme, in floral patterns, stripes or as a block of colour across home accessories or an entire room, this peaceful blue hue could calm even the most uptight of homeowners.” Mike Stephen, Apollo Blinds.

Reassuring Rose Quartz

According to Pantone, Rose Quartz is a ‘persuasive yet gentle tone that conveys compassion and a sense of composure’.

“These colours have a real retro feel to them yet it’s hard to pin them down to one era.  The prim and proper pastel shades of the 1950s are apparent, yet the carefree spirit of the 1980s also shines through.  These sequin adorned vertical blinds are an exuberant, feminine and totally 80s take on the trend, whilst our more reserved floral print roller blind is a way of creating the look without overpowering the room.” Mike Stephen, Spokesperson, Apollo Blinds.

An influence in the thinking behind Pantone’s colour selection for 2016 is ‘gender blur’ and the rejection of stereotypes.  In other words, pink doesn’t have to mean feminine.  Here we’ve toughened the look with a pink Twilight blind teamed with masculine accessories.”
