Dress (your windows) to impress with 2022’s colour of the year

The experts at Pantone have spoken – Very Peri (a periwinkle shade of blue) has been named colour of the year 2022. Bright, vibrant and optimistic, Very Peri is said to “display a spritely, joyous attitude and dynamic presence that encourages courageous creativity and imaginative expression.”

Here at Apollo we are fans of big and bold when it comes to interiors and with our collection books filled with hundreds of colour and fabric options to choose from in the comfort of your own home, we know how a blind or window covering can tranform a room from bland to beautiful instantly.

Very Peri-inspired fabrics are a fantastic option when it comes to injecting a bit of colour (and fun) into your home. Here are our ideas of using this colour – from the living room to bedroom binds.

Go big and bold – if you are someone who loves to embrace bold, stand out colours then why not put Very Peri at the very heart of your design scheme. This Apollo Roller Blind with matching sofa and footstool would certainly make a statement – and bring a lot of colour and joy into your home. We love it.

Try two tone – if you’re worried that a big block of purple will overpower your room, think about how you can layer in another colour to create a two tone effect. Black and purple Apollo Pleated Blinds look striking and chic, working with the other shades of purple and grey in the design scheme and keeping the room looking grown up.

Opt for muted shades – if you’re keen on using shades of purple on a bigger scale then opt for colours that are a bit more muted to avoid a cartoon-like finish. This deep lavender colour scheme is grown up and luxurious. Layering different shades and textures throughout the interior design gives it a boutique hotel style designer finish. Florals using a Veri Peri base colour look fantastic teamed with other bright hues.

Take your bathroom from boring to beautiful – bathrooms can be a fantastic blank canvas that are just calling out for an injection of colour or pattern at the window. Match blinds, towels and accessories as a great way of pulling a colour scheme together. This deep shade of purple looks great against the white.

Keep it subtle and chic – shutters are a fantastic investment when it comes to putting that classic finishing touch to your windows. Although many people opt for a classic white, or shades of grey, shutters can look really striking in other hues such as the ones shown here in lavender. Going a bit braver with your colour options, but still keeping them soft and subdued will mean that your room will remain on-trend for years to come. Pictured are Apollo Shutters in lavender.
