Salone del Mobile at Milan Design Week is one of the leading events in the interiors calendar, giving people a glimpse into what will be trending in their homes towards the end of this year and beyond.
Here we have pulled out three of our favourite incoming trends from the show – that will help you achieve that designer look with minimum effort and expense.
#Trend 1 – Candy Colours
Channel your inner Barbie girl or take inspiration from bubble gum blue, there’s some seriously sweet looks incoming.
Muted pastels have been a popular look of the past few years. Next up is candy colours which takes this a step further – think sugary sweet bright and electrifying pops of pinks, blues, yellows, oranges and green.
Blinds and accessories are a great way to inject this new colour trend into to your home subtly without the need for a major design overhaul.

#Trend 2 – Boucle and texture
Boucle has fast become a must-have fabric, but according to the trends on display at Salone del Mobile, trend is set to get even bigger during the second half of 2022 and well into 2023.
Boucle’s cosy texture is comforting and cocooning making it an extremely popular choice for sofas, armchairs and smaller accessories such as cushions and soft furnishings. It’s appeal is now being extended to other areas of the home. Boucle dining chairs, for example, can add a grown up and textured luxe finish to a dining space. Boucle was renowned for being championed by Chanel in the 1950’s and we love how a monochrome styled room can really replicates those Chanel-vibes. If you are adding boucle to your home for A/W 22 then why not pair with a dramatic black window dressing to achieve that Chanel look.

#Trend 3 – recycled and sustainable materials
It perhaps goes without saying that recycled fibres and sustainable materials were a key theme of Milan Design Week, with environmental installations, upcycled showpieces and material innovations all on display throughout the various events.
We’re are aware of homeowners’ increasing drive to buy sustainably and so products with eco-credentials are set to become a mainstay. At Apollo we have a growing collection of eco-friendly blinds that are made from 100% recycled polyester fabrics developed using recycled yarn that has been derived from discarded plastic drinking bottles. With Our Roller, Vertical and Pleated blinds all available there really do offer you a great choice if you want to make sustainable choices in your home.

When you book a free design consultation with your local Apollo we can help you decide on looks, fabrics and styles of blinds, curtains or shutters to give your home an update with the latest trends. https://www.apollo-blinds.co.uk/find-your-apollo/
